Rashford's Manchester United Nightmare

Marcus Rashford is spending his summer in Marbella, a top holiday destination for footballers including Cristiano Ronaldo, Raheem Sterling and Erling Haaland. But although it's sunny, luxurious and the beach is nearby, it's not a typical holiday. Rashford is conducting an individual training camp to sharpen his fitness levels ahead of the new season, as he has done previously in the last few years.

Why United Are Struggling to Sell Rashford

  • High wages (£315k–£370k/week) make clubs reluctant—few can afford to take on his salary.
  • Low market interest: Despite being a title winner, he's seen as overpaid and not in Amorim’s plans.

Loan Deals: Only Realistic Option?

  • Barcelona are open to a loan, even without signing Nico Williams yet. They're considering covering full or partial wages plus a fee.
  • Aston Villa already hosted him on loan from February to season‑end, paying up to 90% of his wages and with a £40m purchase option.
  • Other clubs like AC Milan, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund have been mentioned, but his salary remains a barrier

United's Stance

They prefer a £40m permanent sale, which would be pure profit, but know that loaning with wage subsidies (like what was done in January) may be their only viable route
