Manchester City have officially completed the signing of forward Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in a deal worth a total of £64 million. 

The 26-year-old Ghana international has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract at the Etihad Stadium, keeping him with the Premier League champions until June 2031.

In a significant nod to club history, Semenyo has been assigned the number 42 shirt. This jersey holds legendary status at City, having been worn by former captain and four-time Premier League winner Yaya Touré. It is the first time the number has been occupied since Touré’s departure in 2018, signaling the high expectations Pep Guardiola has for the versatile attacker.

Semenyo arrives in Manchester in elite form, having already netted 10 goals and three assists in the 2025/26 campaign. His final act for Bournemouth was a dramatic stoppage-time winner against Tottenham on January 7. Speaking on the move, Semenyo expressed his pride, stating that the opportunity to work under Guardiola and compete for four trophies was "perfect" for his career stage. He is expected to be available for selection as early as this weekend's FA Cup clash.
